About Me

Hi my name is Debbie Givens and this is my site. I've been selling beads on Ebay for three years now and decided to make the jump to my own website.Seemed like the logical thing to do, but being a basically lazy person, I guess that's my excuse, I find I don't keep it up like I should.  As my family is constantly reminding me, you can't sell anything, if no one ever sees it.
I've always been the kind of person who likes to do things myself. Why buy handcrafted items when you can and want to do-it-yourself?? So that started my crafting career. I've done everything from heirloom sewing, unfortunately my little girl grew up too fast and my son well Dad just didn't think much of his son in smocked outfits no matter how cute!! I've stamped which started me making books, which started me adding beads to my books and then beading, to making lampwork beads and now making chainmaille, wirewrapped and starting to get into the silver metalwork, but geez with silver prices on the rise, now was not the time to want to start!! In between the sewing and stamping, I made handmade soap and candles, still have enough soap to last for the next ten years, but I do love it!Oh and I'm a knitter! I love making felted bags, you may see a couple on the site.
I'm a wife, mother of five, grandmother of five, animal lover of 2 dogs,5 cats, 10 goats and one horse, nature lover, book reader, computer geek and I make a great couch potatoe!

About Glastique

I forgot to mention my stained glass phase. Oh how I love stained glass. Unfortunately, it takes a lot of space. I used to have a spot in my garage for it. Well this is Texas, so my work was limited to cool days which are rare  around here.  there's something about the mixture of sweat and blood that's not very pleasant. Being a little klutzy, I always leave a little dna on my stained glass pieces. Glastique became the little business I started at that time. My idea was glass panels in antique pieces of furniture and small handmade cupboards. Unfortunately the furniture part never panned out, but I made and sold a bunch of panels. But that was the idea Glass + Antique became Glastique.  I liked the name so when I decided to take the lampwork a step further, I fell back on my old name. Now it's more Glass + Boutique = Glastique.

The colors of rods available for lampwork beads are like the colors of a large crayola box + about a million more!! I think it would be cool to make beads that match outfits. I've done that some. Unfortunately, people don't sew like they used to, so it's not like they can send you a swatch of the material and you can match it perfectly. With the colors on the computer monitor, it's not always an exact match but it's pretty darn close. So where I'm going with this ramble is I do custom work. You can send me a picture of the item you're wanting to match and I'll try my darnedest to match it for you.

Satisfaction is guaranteed.

The only bad thing I can think of about the internet (besides it makes it so easy to shop and spend money!!) is you can't see it, hold it and try it on. If you buy something from me and it doesn't work, don't hesitate to let me know. We'll make an arrangement for a return or a swap, but we'll work it out.  I'll also allow for one free adjustment, ie:the bracelet is too small or too large I'll fix that no problems.  Now if you want a 16 inch necklace made into a 24 inch necklace that wouldn't be a free adjustment!!!

I love to hear from you, let me know what you think, if you like/hate a design, have ideas, or are looking for something in particular.

I occaisionally sell on Ebay seller id is dgg112. I have a sparcely stocked Etsy shop. www.glastique.etsy.com.

So welcome to my little  space on the net, you just never know when I'm going to get off my butt and add to it!!
